I woke Monday morning to sharp chest pains and they didn't go away. It was an intermittent pain but sharp and strong. What to do? I finally woke my niece and she called 911. The paramedics did the usual tests,  it didn't appear to be my heart. So I had my very first (and hopefully last) ride in an ambulance. At the hospital, more tests including chest x-rays. Bottom line, it wasn't my heart or lungs. When I left the hospital 5 hours later, I was still having pains every few minutes. The doctor has referred me to a cardiologist for further testing just in case. The pain ceased around 8pm last night.

Back to regular programming.

 The morning sun.

Today's packing goal: shoes, purses, paints

It's a dreary,  coolish morning with no 90s in the 10 day forecast. (Hooray!)

I realized yesterday that when I move to my new apartment I won't have a window over my kitchen sink; for the first time in 40+ years. It's not a big deal. It doesn't cause any particular melancholy, it's just a fact. My new sink will be located in (on?) an island and my view will be into the living room and the window at the other end of the room.

The kitchen window in my Georgia house.

It's a beautifully cool morning, so I am enjoying being on the balcony once again. The hummingbirds are not happy with my presence at all but they can just get over it.

At the hair salon this morning

While emptying a cabinet, I came across this coffee mug. Many, many years ago I ran an online photo contest, Shutterbugs.biz. Membership was free but donations were welcomed. There was a Photo-of-the-Month with a prize of a $50 Amazon gift card. I did it for several years until I ran out of gas. I sold the site to a couple of photographers in Australia. They ran it for a while but eventually shut it down. I did it for the love of photography, certainly not for the money as there wasn't much to be had.

New pizza

New for me at least. Mozzarella,  fresh cherries,  feta. Delicious!

And I've cleared out one upper cabinet. I've packed a lot but now I'm going to do the hard work (ladder required). Four more to go.

The sun was shining this morning, allowing me to get some shots of the hummingbirds as they came to take a drink.

New Month

August 1. July was wacky right to the end. I really need August to not be wacky.
