Pizza and Quitting

This is a delicious blueberry, feta, and caramelized onions pizza.

It's still cold here, 22° this morning. I quit Facebook  (again) and Instagram too. My Facebook account was hacked and (nefarious I'm sure) links sent to all of my friends. I wasn't posting much anyway but I did enjoy a couple of groups related to cooking. Oh well.

At least I still have Wordle.

Cold and Old

I think I feel older when it's cold (currently 27) because everything aches. Thanks arthritis! There's a possibility of more snow this weekend (less than an inch)

Anyway, I thought I'd post a few photos from recent days.

One twenty-two twenty-two

So, it snowed last night and we awoke to a couple of inches covering everything. It's mostly melted now, a little after five pm.

Beau, wine and new snow boots.

Making Tracks

The snow and ice have melted. Spring can't come soon enough.

Winter Storm Izzy

The much anticipated winter storm has arrived. Where I am, it is mostly sleet and freezing rain. Fingers crossed that the power stays on.

Metamorphosis

I speeded up this video in order to reduce the file size. This sculpture is not far from where I live and I've known of its existence for about a year. Today I finally went to see it. My intent was to get a cool infrared photo, but conditions were not ideal; glad I had my phone with me. It's quite fascinating to watch.

IR on my mind

According to my photo files, when January rolls around my mind turns to infrared. This is probably due to the winter photo slump (although my slump is not limited to one season). I went searching for my Sony... my poor, taped up, on its last breath Sony. It took a while to find it and it took even longer to charge the battery. One of these days everything will cease to work but for now it's working. I handle it with great care lest the rubber bands that hold the lenses on break.

Sony's night vision mode was very innovative (in my opinion) and makes shooting infrared easier/simpler. Before I located the camera today, I googled shooting infrared on other cameras. Someday, I might have to go that route. But maybe the Sony will outlast me. ;)

Fiery Skies

 Sunrises from Jan. 6 & 7

That's all I've got today. It's cold (27 this morning) but sunny and that helps a lot.

Ingredients

 Kitchen closeup

I thought my phone did pretty well on the details.

January 7. One week into the new year.  Maybe too much cooking and not enough creating. I'm still looking for one or two changes in my environment that will release my stopped-up creative mind. I'm positive that there is over thinking at play here; it's what I do best. It doesn't help that simmering on the back burner of my brain is the MOVE.

Flag Thoughts

I cannot yet fly the American flag. When I see the flag today, I see the rioters invading the capitol.  I see the supporters of the former president flying the stars and stripes on their pickup trucks as they attempt to run a bus off the road. A bus carrying Americans.

To be honest, on the day that Trump was elected, I took down the flag that had been hanging near the front door of my home. I knew things were going to be bad but I couldn't have imagined how far this country would fall.

I try to keep politics out of my writings, bur this has weighed on my mind for a long time. I look at the American flag today and I don't see patriotism, I see hatred.

Change needed

Blogger is killing me.  It used to be so easy to use and now it's a nightmare. Basta!

This mornings sunrise:

Note: All of my issues with Blogger happen when I try to create a post on my phone. If I use my desktop computer, it works fine. And note that Blogger is free. I don't want nor need another monthly subscription. In summation: looks like the "change" is where I use the program.

Slow start

Day 2 - it rained. All day.

Day 3 - I made a personal size pizza in my new ninja foodi dual heat air fry oven.

Cool/cold weather has arrived. I surely did enjoy those 70° days. Ah well, Spring is just around the corner.

The glass also breaks

Better late than never. There was wine last night but then the wine glass went flying and I spent a considerable amount of time trying to sweep up all of the tiny shards of glass... lest my bare feet find them in the middle of the night. An inauspicious start to 2022 unless breaking a glass is a sign of good luck?

Here we go

First Morning

I was disappointed that I didn't get the new years glasses and the champagne glass for 2022. I really just forgot.
