Anniversary

 Today was my wedding anniversary.

More flowers and an interesting quote:

"A good artist is one that uses his work to make the invisible visible. So can you achieve one photograph where you don’t have to explain, where it is so simple and you do not need the mercy of words to tell your story? If not, then your photograph is not simple enough. A thought is beautiful when it is expressed in a simple manner, and when it is perceived and understood." ~ Pierre Poulain

Comfort Zone

The D700 is still in use. I have to concede that I cannot get closeups that I like with the Fuji. Not a problem.

Spring Fever

“It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want—oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!” ~ Mark Twain

The tulip finale

At least for this particular bouquet.

View from the fifth floor

Moonrise. Not sure if this was the Lenten Moon or the Worm Moon. It matters not.

A solitary bird sat on the peak of the building and sang his heart out. The entire time I was on the balcony. No other bird came to join him so perhaps he was performing an aria.

Friday sunset, it was gorgeous. This photo, shot through the window, doesn't do it justice and that's okay. It's in my memory.

To Tulip or...

 More tulip gracefulness.

I believe that Spring is finally here. Now, if we can keep it for a while and not rush headlong into the heat of summer.

Coming and Going

The storms depart, flights arrive, and time is going to spring forward. Winter will make one last appearance tonight, fingers crossed.

Beware the Ides of March.

Took a little trip down memory lane, December 2007, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.

Birthday Beau

Beau is seventeen years old today!

There was cake although he's not allowed to have chocolate.  Mom may have had too much cake.

I think my baking days are over for a while. 😉

Spring Unbroken

This will be the third year without a Spring Break trip. The last two years due to COVID, this year... several reasons. The search for my next home and I hate Florida. This development surprises me as much as anyone and I admit it is wholly based on the idiocy of Florida's government and most of its citizens.

I spent my formative teen years in Florida. We moved back to upstate New York after my dad died and my mom wanted to be close to her family. Then we moved back to Florida in the late 60s. I lived there until we moved to Georgia in 1972. My son was born in Florida. These strong anti-Florida feelings puzzle me, yet I cannot deny them. I don't want to live in Florida and now I don't even want to visit. And this eliminates a whole lot of beach possibilities for a Spring Break getaway.

Of course, there are Carolina beaches but it would mean traveling solo and I think those days have unfortunately passed for me.

Wacky Weather

As it usually is in Spring, the weather is all over the place. Yesterday and today - 80-ish. The rest of the week - 50s and 60s, until Sunday morning when it will be in the 20s. The only thing we can do about the weather is complain. Ha!

Coffee on the balcony yesterday. It was a good day.

Memories

From eighteen years ago, still one of my favorites.  I was at a stop light and she was in a car next to me. The graceful lines of her arm, hand, and yes, the cigarette caught my eye; shot through the windshield of my car.

No complaints

Beau had a vet appointment today, for his semi-annual checkup. He's doing well, especially for an almost seventeen year old. The vet tech said his carrier looked like a picnic basket.

Dinner was a burger and a beer. It seemed appropriate since today's temperature of 85 broke a 50 year record

Hello March

I'm no barista but I think this looks like a rose. Or a sunrise.

Also, I do not recognize meteorological Spring. Spring is Spring and it's not on March 1.

Finally, my thoughts are with the people of Ukraine 🇺🇦
