Happy Birthday to Me

It's that time of year; another tick on the clock.

First, let me say that I love every sloppy thing about this photo. I can see it hanging in a diner. It's real. It's not a glitzy food photo. I wouldn't change a noodle or drip of sauce. :)

And now, the boxes await to be filled. Sigh. One at a time.

July, not getting better

“Has it ever struck you that life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quick you hardly catch it going? " - Tennessee Williams

Catching up

Not much happening; may have found my next apartment. Not looking forward to packing. Anyway, a few recent pics:

Note: There was no fire, just several alarms - for no reason.

Get back up and bloom!

This hibiscus plant was blown over during a storm yesterday. Today, it has blossoms galore! There's a lesson here.

July continues

2am Wednesday,  a fire drill. Or maybe someone maliciously pulled an alarm. When we finally got back inside Beau was having nothing to do with sleep. I'm too old to be up all night.

And the blooms keep coming, thankfully.

Finally

Finally, a vivid sunrise. Most days, the low clouds have obscured the rising sun.

Yesterday morning, the sun lost the battle with the clouds.

Then there was key lime pie.

And hibiscus.

Crazy July

July so far has been weird, crazy, a little shocking. Are the planets misaligned? I hope things settle down soon.

Lazy, Hot Sunday

Beau, aprés nail clipping and fur brushing.  He still refuses to look at me.

And one more from yesterday. I'm losing track of what I've posted and where.

And my final attempt at a watercolor sunflower; moving on to other subject matter.

Saturday

First, the sunrise, a little orangey today. Then I had to pick up a package so I snapped photos of my balcony from the ground (it's the top one). Then, I noticed a hibiscus bloom! Lastly,  a couple of pics from yesterday.

S.O.S.

July 1. In years past, I would have red-white-blue everywhere in my home, inside and out. I'm not celebrating America this year. This country has fallen so far, I don't know if we'll make it back in my lifetime.  Back to a country to be proud of. A country whose citizens believe in freedom and equality for everyone.  I know, I know, America has always had those who think only white is right. But today, that cancer is everywhere,  all the way to the Supreme Court.  Major chemotherapy is needed. It will be painful.
