I miss my bird feeders. If all other photo ops failed, I could count on a bird or two showing up for a meal. This cardinal is from January 2011, shot with my D700/80-400mm lens. I loved the bits of snow on his tail feathers.
I love those cardinals. Majestic in color and presence. I would expect you to miss those birds and who knows, they may miss you. But that thing called constant change is alive and well in our lives. Maybe there's a way you can coax a few in closer.
