This and That

Northern Cardinal

I miss my bird feeders. If all other photo ops failed, I could count on a bird or two showing up for a meal. This cardinal is from January 2011, shot with my D700/80-400mm lens. I loved the bits of snow on his tail feathers. 

 

The Starburst

I watch the sunrise.

The sky is all kinds of color

But I wait.

I want to see the starburst.

When the sun breaks the horizon

And I know for sure that

It's a new day

Because that's something, 

Isn't it?

 

KIA Care

Took my car in for service today. Service department waiting rooms are always a unique experience. Besides the coughing and sneezing, the TV was turned to ancient game shows; one of the prizes was a color tv. Anyway, oil changed, tires rotated, and the daytime running light is working once more. I need a nap.
 

New Year?

This is a photo from January 2008. We were on top of Stone Mountain in Georgia.  I miss my dark hair.

Here we are - 2024. As expected, I did not stay awake until midnight. Ready or not, a new year has begun. However, according to some theoretical physicists, time is a social construct and is not an absolute. It's all very Einstein-ey, but I like the wibbley wobblyness of it. So, welcome to 2024 or maybe not.
