Leo Full Moon

 

Shot with my Nikon D700 and the 80-400mm lens. Not as crisp as I'd like but much better than last month's effort which resulted in over-exposed while blobs. I don't know what went wrong. I used the same settings as always, but nothing worked. The camera/lens combo seemed to work fine on anything else, just not the moon. Anyway, I was relieved to get a half decent photo this month - maybe it's the new year.

High Clouds and Misdemeanors

Apologies, but that phrase was all I could think of as I drove to Mcdowell Park this morning. 🤣

It was a chilly morning but we're now in the mid 50s; not bad for January. There were only a couple of other people at the park which made me a little nervous. I really should go on the weekends. 

Tulips

 I've said it before, tulips are as beautiful and graceful when they begin to fade as when they were first cut.

This bouquet has been giving me something to focus on, at least. I've been painting as well. My efforts thus far have all ended up in the wastebasket. I'll keep at it though. Maybe I'll eventually paint a 'keeper'.

 Well, six days was a pretty good run, right?

 Well, there was just the one sunset. 

The last was taken looking mostly west, but through a tinted window. You take what you can get.

Numbers

Today is either 1-2-21 or 2-1-21, depending on your date format preference. No meaning, I just noticed.

Today is also the end of holidays for a while. Time to stop indulging every craving that crosses my mind because... holiday! 

The mornings of 2021 have so far been a foggy, rainy, cloudy mess. At least the temps are mild.

New Year

The song playing in my head, "it's just another day". But we always think it's a chance to begin anew. 

No resolutions this year. No promises. I plan to get vaccinated and then when it's all clear, take a vacation somewhere. Almost anywhere.
