straight from the camera

I tried some straight-from-the-camera photos and the concept doesn't excite me. I see the image captured in my camera as a beginning, not an end.

truthful photos

There seems to be a lot of discussion in print and online, about honest photographs. At what point does manipulation, either digital or darkroom. cause a photograph to no longer be true? Changing color? sharpness? tones? adding or removing elements? scratches? sensor dust? Is it possible for the subject or scene to remain true, no matter the processing?

a mini revolution

or just a mini-fad? a small group now, but growing, posting photos with no manipulation other than resizing for the web. quite interesting results... the photography gods must be laughing themselves silly. ;)

too hot to shoot?

there is no excuse, really, for not getting a decent shot today. Running low on ideas? Too hot outside? Too many to-do things on the list? Lame. How to get my artist's eye working again? Tired of photographing 'things'....

straight from the camera

a friendly challenge among a few photogs to post a shot just as it came from the camera - the only editing allowed: resize for the web. Interesting results - more difficult than I imagined. But then, my heart wasn't in it today.

watershed day

sometimes it takes a brutal, hurtful event to open our eyes. we wonder how we could have been so blind.... what were we thinking? we wanted something to be true so badly, that we ignored all the warning signs. today was my day to finally see things as they truly are.
